Weeks like this are my favorite. The perfect balance of 1) walking alongside people, encouraging them and exploring possibilities, 2) preparing, planning and reflecting on the small wins and the lessons learned 3) Learning about the things I value most, how to empower others to take ownership of their lives
As a student, I used to study and try to absorb content and information. Now I listen for how a learning experience is designed and where I need to focus my effort.
One of the concepts we went over was Leading Yourself and the power of incremental change.
97% of people are reactive and don’t live out personal vision.
For example, how you start your day impacts how you lead. What a lot of young people do is to pick up their phone and begin scrolling through their social media.
(After the talk I spent 20 minutes defending this habit, and am as we speak rethinking it)
Here’s what I recommend: First thing you do is drink 16-20 ounces of water. Then do some exercise. It activates BDNF – a neurotransmitter better known as “miracle grow” for your brain it’s a brain sparker.”
Then spend time with God. Then you look at your vision statement and make sure your life is aligned with your vision. At the end of the day you review what you did and journal what you learned. Consistency is the mother of mastery. (From Seth’s weekly email/notes from the training)
I get the joy of watching people put these things into practice and celebrating the difference it makes in their lives and I’m excited about watching these things get rolled out!
