Yesterday, I met with my Bay Area Women’s group over Google Hangout.  It’s hard to feel present in their lives now that I’ve been in Georgia for 15 months, and I was surprised how it became such a place of healing, because I went in not feeling the need.

The topic was Shame and we went around talking about where shame comes up in our lives.  As we spoke, we sensed it lose it’s power over us.  The lies that allow shame to stay in our souls are brought to light.

We bore witness to where the Lord forces us to confront the feelings of failure, and helplessness.  The ways we hide because we fear judgment. But also the freedom that is ours.   It’s amazing how unique each soul is and how differently experiences shape our reality.  And yet we connect over our shared humanity.

Where does shame show up in your life?
